Michael J Darracott's book a proper Cornish childhood is a very interesting account of Cornish life in the mid sixties. He writes about his school days and how hard it was for him back then, also about the great oil spill from the Torrey Canyon oil tanker that went aground on the seven stones reef off Lands End. The book is a wonderful account of a little boy's life in sixties Cornwall.
